461 Bentley Student-Athletes Qualify for the NE10 Academic Honor Roll

461 Bentley University student-athletes, the second highest total in school and conference history, qualified for the spring 2021 Northeast-10 Academic Honor Roll by achieving a grade point average of 3.0 or better during the semester.

When asked about the attitudes of Bentley University’s Black student-athletes last summer, football defensive back and co-captain Jailen Branch said, “Prior to George Floyd, Bentley was all talk. There was a great deal of talk, statements, and speeches, but no action. Being a student of color at this predominantly white institution, I can speak for myself and others than we felt a lack of support as our voices weren’t really heard.”

On March 9, 2016, Bentley's Nicola Mancini (Falmouth, Maine/Falmouth HS) earned her fourth career All-America award during the NCAA Division II Swimming and Diving Championships after storming back in the prelims of the three-meter diving during the afternoon session to just qualify for the finals.

On February 7, 2016, senior All-American Nicola Mancini earned her sixth career gold medal in as many tries and sophomore Emily Niemiec repeated as 200 yard breaststroke champion to lead the Bentley Falcons during the final night of the 2016 Northeast-10 Women's Swimming and Diving Championships at WPI.

Northeast-10 Cancels Intercollegiate Sports for the Winter

The Northeast-10 Conference Council of Presidents has announced that it will suspend all intercollegiate athletics competition and championships this winter – an extension of its fall 2020 suspension – to curb the spread of COVID-19 and protect the members of its college communities. At Bentley, the suspension will affect men’s and women’s basketball, swimming and diving, and track and field.

Bentley University, which topped NCAA Division II in academic success rate for the fourth consecutive year, has once again received the NCAA Division II Presidents’ Award for Academic Excellence. There are over 300 Division II institutions and the Falcons are one of only ten to earn the accolade every year in the program’s 10-year history.

Make It 4 in a Row! Bentley Student-Athletes Again Have Highest Graduation Rate in Division II

Bentley University is ranked number one nationally in this year’s NCAA Division II Academic Success Rate report, an honor it achieved for the fourth consecutive year. In Tuesday’s announcement from the NCAA, Bentley was the only institution to record an ASR of 99 for the third straight year. This also marks the seventh straight year that Bentley has achieved an ASR of 97 or better and the tenth straight it was been above 90.
