On December 6, 2019, the opening day of the Gompei Invitational swim meet at WPI saw Bentley swimmers post a pair of second-place finishes and break two school records.

Senior Dan Sausto captured the only individual second-place finish as he swam the 1650 yard freestyle in 16:08.33, finishing 1.7 seconds back of Bryant's Robert Davis.

The other second was achieved in the women's 800 free relay with sophomore Lucy Slowe and senior Paige MacNeil teaming with freshmen Kate Galvin and Dariana Gonzales for a 7:44.45. They trailed only Division I Bryant, which reached the wall in 7:36.44.

The school record performances came from Galvin in the 50 free and the men's 200 medley relay team of senior Jarod Yoshihara and sophomores Oscar Chang, Zach Papsco and Mark Zoda. They finished sixth in 1:34.22 to break the mark set in February by 0.12 seconds. Papsco and Zoda were also part of that record.

Galvin swam the 50 free in 24:33, good for sixth place and 0.05 seconds faster than the time achieved by Kaitlyn McGahie in February 2017.

Bentley's only third on the day came in the mixed 200 medley relay as MacNeil, Papsco, junior Paul Homorodean posted a 1:40.94.

Fourth-place finishes were achieved by Zoda in the 50 free (21.22), senior Ariana Revelas in the 200 breaststroke (2:27.68) and Homorodean in the 100 butterfly (2:27.68).

Bentley finished the day with a combined men's and women's score of 712 points, good for third place behind Rowan University (914) and Bryant (885).
