39 Falcons Receive Presidents’ Award for Academic Excellence from NE10

Thirty-nine recent Bentley University graduates are among the 2022 recipients of the Northeast-10 Conference Presidents' Award for Academic Excellence, an honor awarded by the conference to graduating senior student-athletes for their outstanding work in the classroom during their college careers.
Bentley Women’s Athletics Have Prospered Since Title IX Became Law

50 years ago, when Title IX became law, there were no athletics for women at Bentley University. A year later, field hockey, basketball and softball debuted as club sports. The following year, all three were elevated to varsity level, with Daryl Leonard the head coach of each.

The Bentley University Falcons suffered a tough 3-2 loss to Assumption University in the first round of the single-elimination Northeast-10 Conference Softball Championships Tuesday afternoon at WPI when the potential tying run was thrown out at the plate to end the game.

HS) pitched her seventh career shutout, a three-hitter, to lead Bentley University to a 6-0 game two win over Stonehill College in the second half of a Northeast-10 Conference softball doubleheader Friday afternoon at Father Gartland Field.

After a walk-off double by freshman Jordan Krause (San Pedro, Calif./San Pedro HS) gave Bentley University an 8-7 win in the completion of a suspended game, the Falcons completed a sweep of St. Michael’s College with a 4-3 game two victory in Northeast-10 Conference softball Thursday afternoon on the Bentley softball field.

Freshman Dahlia Fink (Sherman Oaks, Calif./Notre Dame HS) pitched the first five innings and the final two-thirds as Bentley University bounced back from a difficult game one loss to shut out Le Moyne College, 2-1, in the second half of a Northeast-10 Conference softball doubleheader Tuesday afternoon at the Le Moyne Softball Complex.

Freshman Taylor O’Brien (East Greenbush, N.Y./Columnia HS) and sophomore shortstop Sabrina Grizzaffi (Ridgefield, Conn./Ridgefield HS) scored in the bottom of the seventh to give Bentley University a 2-1 walk-off win and a sweep of its Northeast-10 Conference softball doubleheader with the University of New Haven Sunday afternoon at Bentley. In the opener, the Falcons used a pair of three-run innings to prevail 6-1.
