Krause, Cain Earn All-Northeast-10 Honors

WALTHAM, Mass. – Bentley University's Jordan Krause (San Pedro, Calif./San Pedro HS) and Kaileen Cain (Hauppauge, N.Y./Hauppauge HS) were recognized Wednesday when the Northeast-10 announced its 2022 All-Conference softball team.

Krause, a freshman left fielder, was voted to the All-Northeast-10 first team and was tabbed for the All-Rookie Team. Cain, a graduate student and third baseman, received second-team accolades.

Krause, the team's leadoff hitter most of the season, led the Falcons with a .386 average, the best by a Bentley player since 1995.  Her 54 hits were tied for the second most in program history, and she also had ten doubles, two triples and four home runs. Krause scored 32 times, drove in 15 runs and had a .412 on base percentage.

Krause, whose rookie season included three four-hit games and a ten-game hitting streak, ranks fourth in the conference in total hits, fifth in batting average and total bases, sixth in runs and eighth in both doubles and slugging percentage (.571). Her 80 total bases were good for second on Bentley's all-time list and her 32 runs were third most.

Cain, whose .354 batting average was second to Krause, became Bentley's all-time home run hitter this spring. She went deep eight times this season, bettering the former standard of five, and hit a total of nine since transferring from Caldwell University before last season, in only 44 Bentley games. Her 2021 season was terminated by injury following only three games.

Cain tied for third in the NE10 in home runs, and also ranked first in hit by pitch (15), third in on base percentage (.467), fourth in slugging (.699), tied for sixth in RBI (34), and sixth in total bases (79) and doubles (11). Her 34 RBI was the second most in Bentley annals, and her slugging percentage was the best by a Falcon since 1994.

Bentley set a school record for wins, finishing at 24-19 overall.
