Cain Selected for CoSIDA Academic All-District 1 Honors

WALTHAM, Mass. – After breaking the program records for home runs in a season and a career, Bentley University graduate third baseman Kaileen Cain (Hauppauge, N.Y./Hauppauge HS) has been selected for the CoSIDA Division II Academic All-District 1 softball team by the College Sports Information Directors of America.

The All-District honorees will advance to the national ballot for CoSIDA Academic All-America consideration.

Cain will be looking to earn the prestigious Academic All-America honor for the second time in her career. Back in 2019, before she transferred to Bentley, the then-Caldwell University sophomore was voted to the Academic All-America third team.

Cain had a strong season for the Falcons, one that saw her collect second-team All-Northeast-10 honors. She hit .354, second on the team, and drove in a team-best 34 runs while helping Bentley (24-19) set a school record for victories in a season.

Cain's 40 hits included 11 doubles, two triples and eight home runs, three more than what was the school record. In two years with Bentley, the first of which was limited to three games due to injury, the Falcon tri-captain hit nine home runs in only 44 career games to better that existing record of seven.

In the classroom, the MBA candidate has achieved a 3.88 grade point average at Bentley following a 3.93 undergraduate mark at Caldwell.
