  • Troiani, Figueira Selected for CoSIDA Academic All-District 1 Baseball Team

    Bentley University seniors Max Troiani (Pittsford, N.Y./Pittsford Mendon HS) and Luke Figueira (Taunton/Taunton HS), standouts on the baseball field and in the classroom, have been selected for the NCAA Division II Academic All-District 1 baseball team by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA). District 1 includes student-athletes from the Northeast-10 Conference, the East Coast Conference and the Central Collegiate Athletic Conference.

    The Northeast-10 Conference has recognized the Bentley University baseball team as one of its “Teams of the Week”. Throughout the spring following the suspension of play due to COVID-19, the conference has been honoring the seniors from the spring season with this recognition.

HS) combined for eight RBI and junior righty Luke Dawson (Stamford, Conn./Westhill HS) fired his second straight complete game shutout as Bentley University opened a three-game series with Assumption College with a 15-0 win in Northeast-10 Conference Northeast Division baseball on DeFelice Field.

    On this day in 2014, Bentley University junior left-hander Ryan O'Connor (Newburyport/ Newburyport HS) pitched the team's first no-hitter in 42 years as the Falcons topped Saint Anselm College, 5-0, in the first half of a Northeast-10 Conference Northeast Division baseball doubleheader at DeFelice Field.

It was the second straight day that the Purple Knights scored five in the seventh to defeat the Falcons.

    Graduate right fielder Austin Farry (Watertown, Mass./Watertown HS) and junior second baseman Kyle Halloran (Hopkinton, Mass./Hopkinton HS) scored unearned runs in the bottom of the seventh as Bentley University defeated Stonehill College in non-conference baseball action Friday night at the Santaluces Sports Complex.LAKE WORTH, Fla. – Graduate right fielder Austin Farry (Watertown, Mass./Watertown HS) and junior second baseman Kyle Halloran (Hopkinton, Mass./Hopkinton HS) scored unearned runs in the bottom of the seventh as Bentley University defeated Stonehill College in non-conference baseball action Friday night at the Santaluces Sports Complex. In the decisive inning, with two outs and the score even at 1-1, Bentley loaded the bases on back-to-back singles by Farry and Halloran, along with a walk to senior center fielder Max Troiani (Pittsford, N.Y./Pittsford Mendon HS). A pop-up off the bat of freshman DH Tim Zupkus (Middlebury, Conn./Holy Cross HS) was dropped, allowing Farry and Halloran to score. Bentley took a 1-0 lead in the third with Troiani scoring on a single to left from senior left fielder Luke Figueira (Taunton, Mass./Taunton HS), the second of his three hits on the night. An RBI double by Stonehill senior first baseman Rob Duarte (Raynham, Mass.) in the fifth inning accounted for the Skyhawks’ only run of the night and evened the game at 1-1. Senior righty Will Rossiter (Granite Springs, N.Y./Kennedy Catholic HS) pitched the final two innings for Bentley to save the game for graduate righthander Ryan Corriveau (Milton, N.H./Nute HS), who stranded two runners on base in the Stonehill half of the seventh. Rossiter walked one and struck out three. Graduate righty Paul Frisoli (Watertown, Mass./Arlington Catholic HS) pitched the first six and a third innings for Bentley, striking out eight. Bentley outhit the Skyhawks 8-7 with three hits from Figueira and two from Troiani. Sophomore shortstop Noah Lucier (Sandown, N.H.) had two for Stonehill. Bentley will be back on the same field Saturday for a noon doubleheader against Chestnut Hill College.
  • Fast Start Propels Rollins to 8-5 Win over Bentley

    The Rollins College Tars jumped out to a 5-0 lead with two runs in the first and three in the second and went on to defeat the Bentley University Falcons 8-5 in non-conference baseball Sunday afternoon at Alfond Stadium. It was the second straight day Rollins prevailed by that identical score.
