148 Bentley Student-Athletes Receive D2ADA Academic Achievement Awards

The 148 honorees was the second most for any institution in the Northeast-10 Conference and the East Region, as well as the 11th highest total nationally. Putting that into perspective, there are more than 300 Division II institutions across the country.

Bentley Baseball Receives Team Academic Excellence Award from ABCA

The Bentley University baseball team earned a Team Academic Excellence Award from the American Baseball Coaches Association for its performance in the classroom during the 2019-20 academic year. It's the fifth straight year that coach Bob DeFelice’s Falcons have been honored.

Bentley University outfielder Max Troiani (Pittsford, N.Y./Pittsford Mendon HS) is the Northeast-10 Conference’s Sport Excellence Award winner for baseball, and Tommy Ethier (Nashua, N.H./Bishop Guertin HS), a rising senior at Bentley, received the same prestigious honor for men’s golf. The announcement was made by the conference office Wednesday.

Bentley University seniors Max Troiani (Pittsford, N.Y./Pittsford Mendon HS) and Luke Figueira (Taunton/Taunton HS), standouts on the baseball field and in the classroom, have been selected for the NCAA Division II Academic All-District 1 baseball team by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA). District 1 includes student-athletes from the Northeast-10 Conference, the East Coast Conference and the Central Collegiate Athletic Conference.

HS) combined for eight RBI and junior righty Luke Dawson (Stamford, Conn./Westhill HS) fired his second straight complete game shutout as Bentley University opened a three-game series with Assumption College with a 15-0 win in Northeast-10 Conference Northeast Division baseball on DeFelice Field.

On this day in 2014, Bentley University junior left-hander Ryan O'Connor (Newburyport/ Newburyport HS) pitched the team's first no-hitter in 42 years as the Falcons topped Saint Anselm College, 5-0, in the first half of a Northeast-10 Conference Northeast Division baseball doubleheader at DeFelice Field.
