Troiani, Figueira Selected for CoSIDA Academic All-District 1 Baseball Team

WALTHAM, Mass. – Bentley University seniors Max Troiani (Pittsford, N.Y./Pittsford Mendon HS) and Luke Figueira (Taunton/Taunton HS), standouts on the baseball field and in the classroom, have been selected for the NCAA Division II Academic All-District 1 baseball team by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA). District 1 includes student-athletes from the Northeast-10 Conference, the East Coast Conference and the Central Collegiate Athletic Conference.

Both players will advance to the national ballot for the selection of the CoSIDA Academic All-America team.

Troiani and Figueira both have achieved grade point averages over 3.7. Troiani, an economics-finance major, has made the President's List five times and Figueira, a corporate finance and accounting major, has been honored three times. He's also been included on the Dean's List four times.

Troiani, an All-District honoree for the third straight year, hit .358 during the CODIC-19 shortened 2020 season and Figueira nearly matched him at .333. Troiani had 19 hits, 13 runs scored and ten RBI in 14 games and Figueira provided the Falcons with 17 hits, 11 runs and five RBI.

Troiani, a first-team All-Northeast-10 and second-team All-East honoree a year ago, had a four-year average of .320 with 148 hits and 104 runs scored in 116 career games.

Figueira, who earned second-team All-Northeast-10 and Academic All-Northeast-10 honors in 2019, hit .264 in 130 career games, with 133 hits, 82 runs, 72 RBI and 15 home runs.
