Lirange Earns Capital One Academic All-America® Honors

Nearly seven months after she played her final game for the Falcons, the honors continue to come in for former Bentley University field hockey standout Gina Lirange (Auburn/ Auburn HS). The latest came out Wednesday when Lirange was selected for the 2015 Capital One Division II Women’s At-Large Academic All-America® second team by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA).
Lirange Named co-Woman of the Year in Northeast-10 Conference

Recent Bentley University graduate Gina Lirange (Auburn/Auburn HS), a standout on the Falcon field hockey team the last four seasons, has been named the co-Woman of the Year in the Northeast-10 Conference, an award she shares with Ivy Watts, a Waltham resident who ran track for the University of New Haven.

Former Bentley University quarterback Danny Guadagnoli (Framingham/ Framingham HS) and field hockey All-America Gina Lirange (Auburn/Auburn HS) are among the finalists for the Northeast-10 Conference Man and Woman of the Year awards with the winner of each due to be announced Monday night at the league’s annual banquet in Saratoga Springs, N.Y.

Hoffman & 6 Former Student-Athletes Selected for Bentley Athletic Hall of Fame

Longtime Bentley University women’s volleyball coach Sandy Hoffman, five former All-Americas and one of the premier defensemen in the formative days of the university’s Division I hockey program have been selected for the Bentley University Athletic Hall of Fame. The induction ceremony will be held in the Lacava Center Executive Dining Room on September 26.
Hill & Lirange Named Bentley’s Outstanding Senior Athletes; Hyland Recipient of Powers Award

Football’s Jeff Hill (Mansfield/Mansfield HS) and field hockey’s Gina Lirange (Auburn/Auburn HS), both of whom received All-America recognition in their respective sports, were named the Outstanding Senior Athletes at Bentley University Monday night during a Division of Student Affairs awards program in the Dana Center’s Carleton Room. In addition, men’s basketball standout Keegan Hyland (South Portland, Maine/South Portland HS) was presented with the Edward J. Powers Scholar Athlete Award

Junior Meghan Talerman (Centerville, Mass./Barnstable HS) scored the game’s only goal with 4:17 left and classmate Katie Kelley (Walpole, Mass./Walpole HS) recorded her first shutout of the season as Bentley University edged Southern New Hampshire University, 1-0, in Northeast-10 Conference field hockey Saturday afternoon at Larkin Field.
Michaliszyn Gives Bentley 3rd Straight Overtime Win

COLCHESTER, Vt. – The Bentley University Falcons recorded their third consecutive overtime win when freshman Eva Michaliszyn (Media, Pa./Penncrest HS) netted her third goal of the season 6:12 into the first extra period to give her team a 2-1 walk-off over St. Michael’s College in Northeast-10 Conference field hockey Tuesday afternoon at Duffy Field.

It was truly “Gina Day” at Bentley University as Gina Lirange (Auburn/ Auburn HS), the team’s only member of the Class of 2015, celebrated Senior Day with a hat trick, including the game-winner 9:09 into overtime, to give the Falcons a 3-2 overtime win over Southern Connecticut State in Northeast-10 Conference field hockey Saturday afternoon at Bentley.
