A record ten Bentley University teams have received 2014-15 Team Academic Excellence Awards from the Northeast-10 Conference, an award presented to the program in each of the conference’s 24 sports that achieved the highest grade point average.

In her first competition of the fall, Bentley University junior Sarah Brennan (Quincy/North Quincy HS) posted the fastest 5,000-meter time of her career Saturday morning during the Greater Louisville Cross Country Classic at Tom Sawyer State Park. Brennan covered the distance in 19:15.46 to place 91st in a field of 351 runners.

5 Named Bentley Cross Country Captains

Seniors Tara Dooley (Lee/Lee HS) and Alix Pettinella (Wingdale, N.Y./ Arlington HS) will serve as captains of the 2014 Bentley University women’s cross country team while junior Sean Nee (West Yarmouth/Dennis-Yarmouth Reg. HS) and seniors Christian Connolly (Kingston/Silver Lake Regional HS) and Mac Segura-Cook (Northwood, N.H./Coe-Brown Northwood Acad.) will fill that role for the men’s team, head coach Kevin Curtin announced.
