Parker Selected For AVCA All-East Region Honors; Honorable Mention Recognition for Murphy

WALTHM, Mass. – Bentley University graduate student Amanda Parker (St. Charles North HS), who helped the Falcons to a third straight appearance in the NCAA East Regional, has been named to the AVCA Division II All-East Region team by the American Volleyball Coaches Association.

In addition, senior outside hitter Ingrid Murphy (Cotuit/Barnstable HS) received honorable mention All-Region recognition.

Both were previously selected to the All-Northeast-10 Conference first team.

Parker split time between setter and hitter for the 23-7 Falcons and was the only player in the East Region to amass at least 500 assists and 150 kills. The lefty also exceeded 200 digs and 50 blocks for coach Joey Pacis' team.

The 2022 season saw the former full-time setter provide the Falcons with 5.2 assists, 1.6 kills, 2.2 digs, 0.57 blocks and 0.4 aces per set. Parker had Bentley's first two triple doubles since 2008 as well as ten double-doubles. Season highs included 15 kills against American International, 26 assists against Pace, four aces twice, 17 digs against Southern New Hampshire and five blocks four times.

Parker finished her career with 387 kills, 1698 assists. 812 digs, 133 blocks and 94 aces in 99 matches.

Murphy, the only Falcon to start every match, was second on the team in kills (2.85), aces (45), digs (3.77) and points (3.39). She had multiple kills 12 times and finished the season with ten double-doubles.

During her first three collegiate seasons, Murphy has amassed 820 kills and 1099 digs.
