NE10 Volleyball All-Conference 2022

Murphy, Parker & Wheeler Earn 1st-Team All-Northeast-10 Honors

WALTHAM, Mass. – A trio of Bentley University women's volleyball players – Ingrid Murphy (Cotuit/Barnstable HS), Amanda Parker (St. Charles, Ill./St. Charles North HS) and Ellie Wheeler (Olathe, Kans./Saint James Academy) – have been voted to the All-Northeast Conference first team by the NE10 coaches.

In addition, freshman middle blocker Elizabeth Blinn (Concord, N.H./Concord HS) was named to the All-Rookie team.

Wheeler is a repeat selection on the first team and Murphy was a third-team honoree a year ago. It's the first All-Conference recognition for Parker.

Wheeler, last year's NE10 Rookie of the Year, leads the Falcons in kills (3.22) and points (3.59) while hitting at a .244 success rate. The junior has had 18 matches with double-figure kills, including a season-best 17 Thursday night in the NE10 quarterfinals against Southern Connecticut, and has hit at least .400 five times. For her career, she has 657 kills, 362 digs and 52 blocks.

Murphy, the NE10 Rookie of the Year in 2019, provides the Falcons with 2.85 kills, 3.69 digs, 0.44 aces and 3.40 points per set. A senior with another year of eligibility remaining, she leads the team in total points (319.5) and for her career, has amassed 1077 digs, 809 kills, 110 aces and 953 points.

Parker, a graduate student who splits time between setter and opposite, is the only player in the East Region with over 400 assists and 100 kills, both marks she's well over. She averages 5.2 assists in Bentley's 6-2 offense and also produces 1.6 kills, 2.2 digs, 0.59 blocks and 0.41 aces per set. Owner of two triple-doubles this season, her career totals include 1,676 assists, 380 kills, 804 digs, 132 blocks and 94 aces.

The 6-1 Blinn has been in half of the team's sets this season and is averaging 1.5 kills and just slightly less than one kill per set. Her hitting percentage of .414 would be second in the conference if she had enough attacks to qualify (she's two shy), and she's hit over .400 in six of the last eight matches.

Bentley, 23-6 after being upset by Southern Connecticut in the NE10 quarterfinals, was conference co-champions during the regular season and will likely receive an at-large bid when the NCAA Division II tournament field is announced Sunday night.
