Murphy Named NE10 Volleyball Player of the Week

WALTHAM, Mass. – Bentley University senior outside hitter Ingrid Murphy (Cotuit/Barnstable HS) has been named the Northeast-10 Conference Volleyball Player of the Week after leading the Falcons to a trio of 3-0 victories last week.

In the three wins, Murphy hit .391 while averaging 3.63 kills, 3.13 digs, 0.50 aces, 0.38 blocks and 4.31 points. Her totals for the week included 29 kills, 25 digs, four aces, three blocks and 34.5 points. She hit .409 with 11 kills against Franklin Pierce, .333 with nine kills against Post and .444 with nine kills in two sets against St. Michael's. Murphy also had a .944 reception percentage.

Murphy has twice earned All-Northeast-10 recognition and was the 2019 NE10 Rookie of the Year.

This is the third time this season that a Bentley volleyball player has received Player of the Week honors. Amanda Parker was recognized August 29 and again last week.

In addition, sophomore Jazzy Burke (Lake George, N.Y./Lake George Central HS) was named to the NE10 Weekly Honor Roll. In the three wins, Burke totaled 34 digs and seven aces in eight sets, averages of 4.25 digs and 0.88 aces. She had 18 digs and five aces against Franklin Pierce, and 12 digs and two aces against St. Michael's. Burke also had a .976 reception percentage with only one error in 42 chances.

Bentley, 14-4 overall with a six-match winning streak, hosts Bridgeport tonight and Mercy College on Wednesday.
