Segaline & Murphy Selected for CoSIDA Academic All-District® Honors

WALTHAM, Mass. – Recent Bentley University graduate Kirsten Segaline (Scottsdale, Ariz./ Desert Mountain HS) and teammate Ingrid Murphy (Cotuit/Barnstable HS), a rising junior, have been selected for the 2020-21 CoSIDA Division II Academic All-District® 1 women's volleyball team by the College Sports Information Directors of America.

District 1 includes student-athletes from the Northeast-10 Conference, the East Coast Conference and the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference.

Both will advance to the national ballot for Academic All-America® consideration.

Segaline, a co-captain of this year's team which saw its season cancelled due to the pandemic, was a three-year starter for the Falcons. She appeared in 85 matches during her career and amassed 703 kills, 695 digs and 67 aces while competing for Bentley.

In 2019, Segaline helped Bentley capture the Northeast-10 championships, both regular season and tournament, and earn an NCAA Division II tournament berth. She averaged 2.6 kills and 0.32 aces, both career-bests, as well as 2.5 digs.

Murphy had a standout freshman season in 2019 when she was recognized as the Northeast-10 Rookie of the Year. She was also a member of the NE10 All-Rookie Team and an honorable mention AVCA Division II All-East Region selection.

During her rookie season, Murphy was second on the team in both kills and digs. She had double-figure kills 11 times and finished the season strong, with 10 or more kills in nine of the last 11 matches.

Both players had similar grade point averages, Segaline 3.57 as a marketing major and Murphy 3.58 in data analytics and business studies.
