On This Day, 2013: Hoffman Posts 750th Career Win as Bentley Tops St. Michael’s

On September 29, 2013, with a 3-1 win over St. Michael's at the Dana Center, Sandy Hoffman recorded her 750th career victory as Bentley's women's volleyball coach. The legendary Falcon coach became the first volleyball coach in New England history to reach that milestone as well as only the 26th in NCAA history at any level.

Hoffman, who staged a long fight against cancer before passing in 2015, finished her 32-yeaar tenure as Bentley's head coach with a 758-366 record. The 2014 inductee into the American Volleyball Coaches Association still ranks ninth in Division II history in career wins.

Juniors Alex Tator and outside hitter Tatiana Froehlich led the Falcons as each established a new career high in the 25-15, 25-27, 25-15, 25-18 Northeast-10 victory.

Tator came within one of her first career 50-assist match and complemented her 49 assists with ten digs, three kills and two aces. Froehlich finished with 13 kills, bettering her previous best by one, and shared the team-high with classmate Savannah Dominguez.

Bentley's season-high 61 kills also included eight apiece by junior Kaileigh Sullivan and senior Ashley Ahearn and seven from both sophomore JaciBuscher and junior Emily Garcia.

The win was the sixth straight for the 9-4 Falcons.
