Lopp Garners Northeast-10 Setter of the Week Honors

WALTHAM, Mass. – Bentley University senior Xio Lopp (Kalispell, Mont./Flathead HS) has been named the Northeast-10 Conference Setter of the Week for her outstanding performance in a pair of Falcon victories. She's the first Falcon to receive the award since Alex Tator in October 2014.

Bentley's winning streak grew to 11 with Lopp averaging 12 assists, three digs, one block and 0.71 kills with a .375 hitting percentage (5-2-8). She had 41 assists in 100 attempts (.410) and 10 digs in a three-setter against Franklin Pierce and stuffed the stat sheet with 43 assists, a .377 assist percentage, 11 digs, career-high seven blocks, three kills and an ace in a 3-1 win at Stonehill. She recorded the assist on 39 percent of her sets during the week and helped Bentley hit .272. Lopp had a double-double in each match and her totals included 84 assists, 21 digs, 7 blocks and 5 kills.

Lopp averages 9.34 assists, 2.59 digs, 0.57 blocks and 0.61 kills for the Falcons, who are off to a 16-4 start, including a perfect 5-0 in the conference. She's third in the NE10 in assists and is the only player in the NCAA Division II who averages at least four assists and 0.5 blocks.

Also recognized by the conference this week, with selection to the Northeast-10 Weekly Honor Roll, was senior Rachel Bruno (San Diego, Calif./Francis Parker School).

In the two conference wins, Bruno hit a sparking .475 while averaging 3.14 kills, 1.57 blocks, 0.57 digs and 4.14 points. She had 11 kills in each match while hitting .526 against the Ravens and .429 against the Skyhawks. Bruno also had a career-high nine blocks in the Stonehill match and surpassed 300 blocks for her career.

This week's schedule has Bentley hosting Assumption tonight and playing at Southern Connecticut State on Friday.
