Milner Doubles as Northeast-10 Player & Rookie of the Week

WALTHAM, Mass. – Following a week that saw the Falcons win three times, Bentley University freshman outside hitter Dani Milner (Plano, Texas/The Greenhill School) has been named both the Women's Volleyball Player of the Week and the Rookie of the Week in the Northeast-10 Conference. It's the first time she's been selected as the conference's Player of the Week and the second time she's received rookie accolades.

During the three home matches, Milner filled the stat sheet with 4.30 kills, 4.60 digs, 5.20 points, 0.60 aces and 0.60 blocks per set while hitting .244 as the Falcons cooled off Saint Anselm (14-1), Bridgeport (5-1 in previous 6) and Southern Connecticut (6-1 in previous 7). Her week included 16 kills, 17 digs, 5 blocks and 3 aces against Bridgeport, and a career performance against Southern Connecticut, with 18 kills, 23 digs, a .429 hitting percentage and 3 aces in a 3-0 win. Milner also had a serve receive percentage of .966 in the three wins.

Milner is one of seven Northeast-10 playoffs who are averaging at least 3.1 kills and 2.8 digs this season. Her average of 3.6 points per set is eighth best in the 15-team conference.

Also recognized by the conference, with selection to the Weekly Honor Roll, was Bentley senior setter Allie Rotkin (Cumming, Ga./Milton HS).

Rotkin averaged 11.25 assists with a total of 135 in the three matches. She also provided the Falcons with 2.33 digs, 0.42 blocks and 0.42 kills per set while hitting .286. Rotkin finished with a career-best 52 assists (along with 13 digs) against Bridgeport, 42 against Saint Anselm and 41 versus Southern Connecticut State. Incredibly, she had 19 assists in the opening set against Bridgeport and 18 in the first set against the Owls.

Bentley, riding a six-match winning streak, will look to boost its NE-10 record to 6-0 when it plays at Southern New Hampshire Tuesday night.
