Bentley Number Three Seed in NE-10 Volleyball Championships after Finishing in 3-Way Tie for 1st

WALTHAM, Mass. – After earning a share of the Northeast-10 Conference regular season championship, Bentley University is the number three seed for this week's NE-10 championship tournament and will host sixth-seeded Merrimack College Tuesday night at 7 pm.

Bentley, the University of New Haven and Stonehill College each ended the regular season with identical 11-3 marks, but by virtue of the league's tie-breaking procedure, New Haven was awarded the top seed and Stonehill was number two.

The regular season championship is the 12th for Bentley in volleyball and their first since 2005.

The Falcons, 16-10 overall, were fourth in last week's NCAA Division II East Region rankings and are 15-5 against regional foes. Included was a five-set victory over Merrimack back on Oct. 7.

The semifinals will be held Friday at the site of the highest surviving seed following the quarterfinals and the championship will be at the same location on Saturday.
