Bentley Seeded 6th in Northeast-10 Playoffs, Will Open at Adelphi Tuesday

WALTHAM, Mass. -- After closing the regular season with seven wins in its last nine matches, the Bentley University Falcons have been seeded sixth in the Northeast-10 Conference Women's Volleyball Championships and will take on third-seeded Adelphi University Tuesday night at 7 pm in Garden City, N.Y.

The winner of that contest will advance to the conference semifinals, which will be held Friday night with the highest remaining seed hosting the final two rounds. The conference championship match will be Saturday evening at 7 pm.

The Bentley-Adelphi winner will be pitted against either second-seeded Pace or seventh-seeded UMass-Lowell in the semifinals.  The other quarterfinal matches, also on Tuesday, have regular season champion New Haven hosting number eight Merrimack, and fourth-seeded American International at home against Stonehill.

Adelphi tied for second place with Pace, AIC and Stonehill, and several rounds of tie-breakers were necessary to determine the playoff seedings.

Bentley, which will be seeking its first NE-10 tournament title since 2006, enters the postseason with a 17-13 record after the strong finish. Included was a five-set win at Adelphi on Oct. 15.
