Bentley Volleyball to Hold “Dig Pink for Brain Tumor Moms” Wednesday

WALTHAM, Mass. -- This year's "Dig Pink" event for the Bentley University women's volleyball team will be held Wednesday night (Oct. 20) when the Falcons take on Merrimack College at the Dana Center.  Starting time is 7:30 pm.

This year, the Bentley volleyball program is dedicating the night to the Dana Farber Cancer Institute and the Jimmy Fund in hopes that a cure can be found for Kira, the daughter of Bentley volleyball alumnus Renee Renda Corning, and the many children like her who also suffer from juvenile pilocytic astrocytomas (JPA).

The efforts of Renda Corning and a couple other mothers whose children suffer from this disease was the subject of a recent feature in USA Today.

Pledges can be made for each dig that Bentley has during the match (the team averages about 15 per set, and 40-60 per match), with the team looking to raise a minimum of $1,500. Fans and supporters of Bentley volleyball can also make a straight donation.

Checks should be made out to Boston Marathon Jimmy Fund walk. Pledges can be made to your favorite player or sent to coach Sandy Hoffman, Bentley University Volleyball, 175 Forest Street, Waltham, Mass. 02452.
