WALTHAM, Mass. – Molly Capece was named the Northeast-10 Rookie of the Year for women's outdoor track, the conference announced Tuesday.

Capece's conference honor comes days after being named an All-Region recipient by the United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA).

The Easton, Mass. native won the gold medal in the 5,000-m during the NE10 Championships this spring. She was the only runner to finish in under 18 minutes, posting a time of 17:56.83.

Capece also ran the 1500-m several times this spring. Her best time in that event was 4:58.87, which was also during the NE10 Championships.

Capece is the first Bentley women's student-athlete since 2009 to win a major NE10 outdoor track & field award (Melissa Nash).
