Burmester & Greene Post Wins During SNHU Twilight Invitational

MANCHESTER, N.H. – Sophomore Caitlin Burmester (Willow Grove, Pa./Upper Dublin HS) and senior Hannah Greene (Weston, Conn./Weston HS) posted wins as the Bentley University women's track and field team opened the outdoor season Friday at the Southern New Hampshire University Twilight Invitational.

Burmester was first among a field of 25 in the mile with her time of 5.17.39 a new personal best and more than five seconds better than Franklin Pierce's Alana Thompson. Her converted time put her at number three on the season's Northeast-10 Conference performance list in the 1500.

Also in the mile, senior Audrey Christo (Belmont, Mass./Belmont HS) finished third in 5:29.53.

Greene, who won a jump off with SNHU's Madison McMahon, matched her high jump PR with a height of 5'1.75".

Among 24 competitors in the 100 meters, junior Lucy Ambroult (Holbrook, Mass./Holbrook HS) was third in 12.70 seconds and freshman HaiLian Rowan (Yorktown Heights, N.Y./Lakeland HS) was seventh with her 13.11 a personal best. It also elevated her to seventh on Bentley's all-time list.

Rowan was also sixth among 21 sprinters in the 200 meter dash (28.86).

Freshman Sophia Dearcop (Pittsford, N.Y./Our Lady of Mercy HS) was fourth of nine in the 400, posting a time of 1:07.58.

Next week, Bentley will compete in meets at Merrimack College, Fitchburg State and California-San Diego.
