Burmester & Orr Earn All-New England Recognition Following 7th-Place Finishes

BOSTON, Mass. – Sophomore Caitlin Burmester (Willow Grove, Pa./Upper Dublin HS) and freshman Ryan Orr (Stonington, Conn./Stonington HS) led the Bentley University indoor track and field teams by earning All-New England recognition at the New England Indoor Championships, which concluded Friday at The Track at New Balance.

Their performances over the two days mirrored each other as both placed seventh in the finals of the 800 meters after qualifying with a sixth-place finish. Orr ran a 1:56.51 in the finals while Burmester finished in 2:22.90.

In the mile, senior Brice Tolan (Abington/Abington HS) was 12th in the mile (4:24.30) and was also part of the Falcons' 4x800 relay team that finished tenth in 7:59.06. That quartet also included Orr, senior Jack Deehan (Westwood/Westwood HS) and junior Matthew Chicko (North Andover/North Andover HS).

Junior Lucy Ambroult (Holbrook/Holbrook HS) was 17th in the 60 yard dash (8.06) and senior Audrey Christo (Belmont/Belmont HS) set a new personal best in the mile and moved to 12th on the Northeast-10 Conference performance list. Her time of 5:28.28 improved on her previous best by more than six seconds.

Both Bentley teams scored two points with the women finishing 21st and the men tying for 23rd.

The season continues Saturday in Plymouth, N.H. at the Panther Invitational II.
