Ambroult, Burmester & Gonzalez Lead Bentley Women During GBTC Championships

ALLSTON, Mass. – Junior Lucy Ambroult (Holbrook/Holbrook HS), sophomore Caitlin Burmester (Willow Grove, Pa./Upper Dublin HS) and senior Anyfern Gonzalez (Salem/Salem HS) were the top performers for the Bentley University women's indoor track and field team Sunday during the Greater Boston Track Club Invitational at Harvard University's Gordon Track and Tennis Center.

Ambroult was second of ten in the long jump after clearing 17 feet, one inch. She was first of 34 in the prelims of the 60 meter dash (8.15 seconds) and finished seventh in the finals with an 8.34.

In addition, Ambroult was part of Bentley's 4x220 yard relay team that was third in 1:58.61. That quartet also included seniors Hannah Greene (Weston, Conn./Weston HS) and Savona Roberts (Bedford, N.H./Bedford HS) and freshman HaiLian Rowan (Yorktown Heights, N.Y./Lakeland HS).

Gonzalez threw the shot put 30 feet, 2.5 inches to finish second among 19 competitors and was also third in the weight throw with a distance of 30 feet, 7 inches. That was good for second best in Bentley history in the event.

Burmester moved to third on Bentley's all-time list in the 600 meters with her 1:43.05 good for third among 13 runners. She was also fifth of eight in the 300 (47.28).

Third-place finishes were achieved by senior Audrey Christo (Belmont/Belmont HS) in the mile (5:34.91) and Roberts in the shot (30'1").

In the high jump, Greene moved to sixth on the Northeast-10 performance list after placing fourth with a height of five feet, one inch.

The finals of the 60 also included Rowan. Her 8.30 in the prelims moved her to 12th on Bentley's all-time list and she finished eighth with an 8.40.

 On Friday, Bentley will compete in the Riverhawk Invitational at The Track at New Balance.
