Burmester, Ambroult Top Performers for Bentley in Season-Opening Meet

NEW HAVEN, Mass. – Freshman Caitlin Burmester (Willow Grove, Pa./Upper Dublin HS) and sophomore Lucy Ambroult (Holbrook, Mass./Holbrook HS) were among the top performers as the Bentley University women's indoor track and field team opened its season Sunday at the Art Kadish Challenge at Southern Connecticut State's Moore Field House.

Burmester, in her indoor collegiate debut after a solid cross country season, took second in the mile with a 5:39.46. She finished about three seconds back of Bridgewater State's Nicole Major, who won in 5:36.55.

Ambroult moved into the top five on Bentley's all-time indoor list in both the 55 meters (fourth) and the long jump (tied for fifth). She was 11th of 32 in the 55 with a 7.57, 11th of 22 in the 200 (27.95) and fourth of 23 in the long jump (16'6.5").

Junior Hannah Greene (Weston, Conn./Weston HS) tied for sixth of 17 in the high jump after clearing 4'11". That put her at number seven on Bentley's all-time list. In the same event, freshman Evie Houston (Exeter, N.H./Phillips Exeter Acad.) debuted at 10th on Bentley's top ten list and placed 10th of 27 with a 15'8.25" distance.

Sophomore Adriana Minasian (Wakefield, Mass./Wakefield HS) was fifth of eight in the triple jump (31'10.75") and sophomore Natalia Moulding (Wareham, Mass./Wareham HS) finished eighth of 15 in the 600 (1:56.45).

Bentley, which was ninth of 11 in the team standings with 21 points, returns to action January 15 when the Reggie Poyau Invitational is contested at Brandeis University.
