NORTH EASTON, Mass. – Sophomore Samantha Albanese (Lynnfield/Lynnfield HS) and senior Ashley Nichols (Kenmore, Wash./Inglemoor HS) had the highest finishes for the Bentley University women's outdoor track and field team during the second day of the 2014 Northeast-10 Conference Championships at Stonehill College's W.B. Mason Track Saturday.

Albanese was third in the 3000 meter steeplechase, matching Nichols' showing in the 5,000 meters. Albanese finished in 11:44.85, breaking the school record she set last month by 4.2 seconds.  Nichols, an NCAA Divisional II provisional qualifier in the 10,000, ran the 5K in 18:10.07, a personal best by 7.44 seconds and a time that moved her to number three on Bentley's all-time list.

Bentley had a pair of fourth-place finishes in the throws during Saturday's action. Senior Aubrey Batzinger (Wallingford, Conn./Lyman Hall HS) threw the discus 111 feet and junior Brynnan Farrington (Shirley/Ayer HS) recorded a distance of 38'2.75" in the shot put. Farrington was also 11th in the discus (91'6").

The other school record came in the heptathlon with both junior Tatiana Froehlich (Newton/ Newton North HS) and sophomore Olyvia Leahy (New Bedford/New Bedford HS) exceeding the school record of 2,917 set by Leahy last month at UMass. Froehlich finished her first career heptathlon eighth with 3,580 points and Leahy was 12th with 3,110.

Froehlich's top day two performances were 85'7" in the javelin and 2:39.30 in the 800, the latter generating 581 points. Leahy threw the javelin just over 80 feet and cleared nearly 14 feet in the long jump.

As a team, Bentley finished in ninth place with 30 points.
