Five Bentley Women Score During Skyhawk Invitational

NORTH EASTON, Mass. – Junior Brynnan Farrington (Shirley/Ayer HS) and senior Aubrey Batzinger (Wallingford, Conn./Lyman Hall) had the highest finishes for the Bentley University women's outdoor track and field team during the Skyhawk Invitational at Stonehill College's W.B. Mason Stadium Friday night.

Both turned in fifth-place showings, Batzinger in the discus with a 112'10" and Farrington in the shot put (37'1.25"). Farrington also set a new personal best in the discus with her throw of 98'3" good for ninth place.

Sophomore Chayna McDermott (Milton/Milton HS) was seventh in the triple jump (31'0") and senior Taren Kershaw (Revere/Revere HS) did the same in the 400 meters, her time of 1:02.29 a new PR.

In the javelin, junior Jacqueline Carlson (Kensington, Conn./Berlin HS) was eighth with a throw of 108'4".

Among those establishing new PRs was sophomore Samantha Albanese (Lynnfield/ Lynnfield HS), with a time of 5:01.42 in the 1500 meters.

Bentley was ninth of ten teams in the team standings, finishing with 13 points. Stonehill (152) edged Boston College (143) and the University of Rhode Island (137) in the battle for first.

Bentley will be back on the same track next weekend for the Northeast-10 Championships.
