Bentley Wins Second Straight with 5-2 Victory over Endicott

Waltham, Mass. – Bentley earned its second straight victory with a 5-2 defeat of visiting Endicott on Wednesday afternoon. Three different players won in both singles and doubles for the Falcons.

Katie Tynan (West Barnstable, Mass./Barnstable), Evann Welty (Wayzata, Minn./Mound Westonka) and Alessa Matuty (San Pedro Sula, Honduras) each won in both singles and doubles on the day.

Tynan teamed with senior Hannah Fabianski (Pawcatuck, Conn./Stonington) for a 6-1 victory in No. 1 doubles, and Matuty and Welty won a battle in the No. 2 match that went to a tiebreak, 7-6 (7-2).

In singles, Matuty improved to 5-1 this spring with a 7-6 (7-5), 7-5 victory in No. 2. Welty won her second straight in singles with a 6-0, 6-3 triumph in No. 3 and Tynan was a 6-0, 6-4 winner in No. 4.

Freshman Cindy Luo (Stamford, Conn./Stamford) picked up a 6-4, 6-0 win in No. 5, while junior Morgan Kreiss (Northborough, Mass./Alongquin) battled hard in No. 6 in a three setter but dropped a close a 6-3, 6-7 (5-7), 12-10 decision.

Bentley will now prepare for its final match of the season, at home on Friday against Curry.
