Three Falcons Earn Northeast-10 All-Conference Selections

WALTHAM, Mass. – Three student-athletes from the Bentley University women's tennis team earned selections to the Northeast-10 All-Conference teams, it was revealed when the conference announced its All-Conference selections and major award winners for the 2016-17 regular season.

Senior Susan Stowe (Hebron, Conn./RHAM) was named third team All-Conference in No. 5 singles, junior Katie Brandow (East Northport, N.Y./Northport HS) is third team All-Conference in No. 6 singles and freshman Katie Tynan (West Barnstable/Barnstable HS) was chosen to the All-Rookie team.

Stowe is on the All-Conference team for the third time in her career, after being selected previously in her freshman and junior seasons. This year, the senior posted a 6-2 record when playing No. 5 singles against NE-10 opposition. She is 7-3 overall in singles matches, and has won three of four heading into the postseason. One of the wins came against Bentley's quarterfinal opponent, Merrimack, on Oct. 8, a 6-0, 6-4 victory in No. 5 singles.

Brandow has had a successful first season for Bentley after transferring from Northeastern. She is 7-1 in singles overall, and 4-1 in No. 6 matches, which earned her the All-Conference nod in that flight. Brandow has been used in other parts of the lineup with singles matches in the No. 3-No. 5 positions, and won all three, and she has also been part of Bentley's primary No. 2 doubles team with Hannah Fabianski (Pawcatuck, Conn./Stonington HS).

Heading into the postseason, Brandow has won two singles matches in a row, with one of them coming against Merrimack, 6-1, 6-1 in No. 6 singles.

Tynan has been a consistent performer in both singles and doubles. She has posted a 5-3 record in singles, with a 2-0 mark in No. 3 matches and 3-3 in No. 4 matches. One of those victories in No. 4 singles came in the Merrimack match, 6-2, 6-2.

She has also teamed with senior Rachel Petrini (Madison, Conn./Daniel Hand HS) as Bentley's No. 1 doubles team, and the pair has posted a 5-4 record this fall.
