Five Falcons Earn Northeast-10 Women’s Tennis All-Conference Honors

WALTHAM, Mass. – A quintet of Bentley women's tennis players have earned selections to the 2012 Northeast-10 All-Conference teams. They are, senior Brittany Harbert (Boxford, Mass./Masconomet), juniors Rachael Litton (Burlington, Ontario/Nelson) and Katie Van Gilst (Harwinton, Conn./Lewis S. Mills), sophomore Alyssa Hayes (Berlin, Conn./Berlin) and freshman Melanie Scott (Southbury, Conn./Pomperaug).

Litton was named third team All-Conference in third-flight singles after going 9-3 in conference matches.

Harbert picked up two All-Conference honors, getting selected to the third team in fourth-flight singles with a 10-2 record. She and Hayes were chosen to the third team in third-flight doubles with a 7-5 mark.

Van Gilst, who went 6-1 in fifth-flight singles, was named to the third team as well.

Scott was picked to the All-Rookie team after going 4-3 in conference singles matches and 9-3 in doubles, playing mostly in the second-flight with senior Kara Murphy (Worcester, Pa./Methacton).

The Falcons finished their season at 9-12, and 9-4 in the NE-10 regular season, after falling to Saint Michael's in the NE-10 playoffs Wednesday.
