Eckerd Blanks Bentley 9-0 in Spring Break Opener

ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. –The Eckerd Tritons dealt Bentley a 9-0 loss in the spring break opener for the Falcons in non-conference women's tennis on Sunday.

Eckerd won all three doubles matches, with the top-flight match the closest as Gipson Hawn and Erika Fridrik defeated junior Paulina Sotomayor (San Antonio, Texas/Ronald Reagan) and junior Rachael Litton (Burlington, Ontario/Nelson) 8-6. The second-flight was not as close, but senior Kara Murphy (Worcester, Pa./Methacton) and freshman Melanie Scott (Southbury, Conn./Pomperaug) gave Steph Jenks and Taylor Bullock a run in the second-flight, but fell 8-4.

The Falcons, who fall to 3-3 on the season, are back in action on Wednesday at Florida Tech.
