Swimming and Diving Prepared to Compete at Gompei Invitational

WALTHAM, Mass. – The swimming and diving teams will compete this weekend at the Gompei Invitational, hosted by Worcester Polytechnic Institute.

It's a three-day event from Friday-Sunday. Prelims for the swimming events will be held in the morning on each day and the finals start at 5:30 on Friday and Saturday and 5:00 pm on Sunday. Diving trials and finals will held in between the two swimming sessions on all three days. 

Teams competing with the Falcons this weekend are WPI, Babson, Brandeis, Bryant, Central Connecticut, Clark, Merrimack, Norwich, Roger Williams, Sacred Heart and Springfield.

 

The women's team also won at Keene State, 159-127, for its fourth straight victory.

Four different swimmers swam season bests in the win over the Owls. Jordan Nuzback in the 50 fly (28.03), Emily Blatt in the 50 breast stroke (31.69), Sarah Griffith in the 50 back (21.12) and Skyla Lang in the 100 back (1:01.56).

Hilla Almog was named the NE10 Diver of the Week for the second straight week, and third time this season, after she won both diving events against Keene State.

The Gompei will be the last meet of the semester for the Falcons. They return to the pool on Jan. 9 at Saint Michael's.
