Falcons Defeat Saint Rose 138-74 in Home Opener

WALTHAM, Mass. – Emma Hapkiewicz and Jordan Nuzback each won twice and Hilla Almog swept the diving events as Bentley defeated Saint Rose 138-74 in its home opener meet.

Freshman Skyla Lang and sophomores Brydie Olofson and Caroline Ubert won races as well.

The meet began with the Falcons' 200 medley relay team of Ava Young, Emily Blatt, Ubert and Madison Capria winning with a time of 1:55.34.

Hapkiewicz, named the NE10 Women's Swimmer of the Week on Tuesday, won the 200 free in 2:02.31 to win the race by more than four seconds. She won the 500 free in 5:20.16 to finish more than nine seconds ahead of the field.

In the 50 free, Lang edged her teammate Blatt with a time of 25.92.

Nuzback's first win of the meet came in the 200 IM with a time of 2:15.65 to take first by almost five seconds.

She later took the 100 free in 55.45.

Ubert was victorious in the 100 fly with a time of 1:01.33. Olofson was first in the 100 backstroke swim in 1:04.76, just narrowly over Young by seven 100th of a second.

Almog easily outpointed Saint Rose in the one-meter dive with a score of 263.85 and she also won the three meter with a score of 276.52.

Bentley's next competition is against Assumption on Nov. 5 at the Dana Center.
