Bentley Places Conference-High 5 on Academic All-NE10 Women’s Swimming & Diving Team

WALTHAM, Mass. – The 2023 Academic All-Northeast-10 women's swimming and diving team had a distinct Bentley University look with five of the 11 honorees Falcons.

They are seniors Kate Galvin (Suffern, N.Y./Suffern HS) and Kate Huminski (Madison, Conn./Daniel Hand HS), junior Emily Blatt (Westford/Westford Academy) and sophomores Jordan Nuzback (Fairview, Pa./McDowell HS) and sophomore Cleo Zhou (Sharon/Sharon HS). Galvin and Huminski both earned the recognition for the second straight year.

Galvin repeated as Northeast-10 champion in the 50 yard freestyle while also earning silver in three relays and bronze in two others at the 2023 conference championships. Bentley's school record holder in three events (100 free, 200 free, 200 free relay), she medaled in 20 of 21 events at the Northeast-10's during her career, amassing eight golds, six silvers and six bronze. A co-captain, Galvin has achieved a 3.71 GPA while majoring in finance and liberal studies.

Huminski, who was recently voted to the College Sports Communicators Women's Swimming Division II Academic All-America third team, three-peated as Northeast-10 Women's Diver of the Year. She was named the NE10 Women's Diver of the Meet at the conference championships after placing first in both the one-meter and three-meter competitions for the third time. In the classroom, Huminski has a 3.76 GPA as a management major.

Blatt, at the conference championships, won silver in both the 200 breaststroke and the 200 medley relay, and was also fourth in the 100 breast. A former NE10 gold medalist in the 400 medley relay, she ranks second in program history in the 50 breast as well as fifth in the 200 and seventh in the 100. Blatt, who majors in both data analytics and business studies, has excelled academically with her GPA just shy of 3.9.

At the NE10's in February, Nuzback repeated as conference champion in the 200 individual medley while also placing second in the 200 medley relay and third in both the 200 free relay and the 400 free relay. She owns the third best time in program history in the 50 butterfly, the 100 fly and the 100 IM. A corporate finance and accounting major, Nuzback has a 3.80 GPA.

Zhou's highest finish at the conference championships was a third in the 200 free relay and her top individual showing was an 11th in the 50 free. A member of the President's List each of her first three semesters, Zhou has a 3.94 GPA while majoring in marketing and accountancy.

Bentley had a 10-1 dual record this past season and placed second in the conference championships.
