Bentley Wins All 13 Events for 162-53 Win at Babson

BABSON PARK, Mass. – Led by senior All-America Nicola Mancini (Falmouth, Maine/Falmouth HS) and junior Kaitlin McGahie (Boylston/Tahanto Reg. HS), the Bentley University women's swimming and diving team captured all 13 events during a 162-53 win over Babson College Tuesday night at the Babson pool.

Mancini swept the diving while posting a 281.70 from the one-meter board and a 284.50 from the three-meter. Classmate Courtney Stone (Andover/Andover HS) was second in both with scores of 244.30 and 255.35, respectively.

McGahie led one of four 1-2-3 Bentley sweeps by swimming the 200 yard individual medley in 2:13.24. She was also part of two winning relays, the 200 medley and 200 free. She combined with sophomore Makaila Williams (Hyde Park/Acad. of the Pacific Rim) and seniors Meg Pernsteiner (Highland Heights, Ohio/Hawken School) and Kelly Culkin (Avon, Conn./Avon HS) for a 1:58.56 in the 200 medley, and with junior Nicole Hellstern (Southbury, Conn./Pomperaug HS), sophomore Emily Niemiec (Meriden, Conn./Francis T. Maloney HS) and freshman Jennifer Seuling (Floral Park, N.Y./ Floral Park Memorial HS) for a 1:48.05 in the 200 free.

Bentley's other sweeps were led by freshman Hannah Rauch (Orchard Park, N.Y./Orchard Park HS) in the 200 free (2:02.58), sophomore Anne Warren (Ellicott City, Md./Mt. Hebron HS) in the 100 butterfly (1:03.29) and Niemiec in the 500 free (5:23.59). The latter race went right down to the wire with Niemiec edging freshman teammate Melissa Viator (Lubbock, Texas/Lubbock HS) by just three hundredths of a second.

Other winners for the Falcons were Pernsteiner in the 100 back (1:05.53), senior Michelle Giordano (Alfred, Maine/Cheverus HS) in the 1000 free (12:06.40), sophomore Jess Chen (Darien, Conn./Darien HS) in the 50 free (26.68) and freshman Brooke Jameson (Bedford/Bedford HS) in the 100 free (57.51).

Bentley, 9-2, will wrap up its dual schedule next Tuesday at Bridgewater State.
