Two Second Half Goals Help Push Southern N.H. Past Bentley 3-0 in NE10 Quarters

MANCHESTER, N.H. – A pair of second half goals helped push No. 3 seed Southern New Hampshire past No. 6 Bentley 3-0 in the quarterfinals of the Northeast-10 Championship on Sunday night.

The Penmen took an early 1-0 lead in just the 2nd minute on the sixth goal of the season by Victoria Roulston, who scored off a rebound after an initial shot by Alyssa Anderson was saved.

Falcons goalie Claire Ewen prevented any further damage two saves during the remainder of the half to keep it a 1-0 game.

It was in the second half where SNHU pushed its lead. Seven minutes into the half, the Penmen made it 2-0 on the ninth goal of the season by Carly Schofield with a shot from 12 yards out. In the 69th minute striker Anne Sikkema scored SNHU's third goal of the night.

The Penmen advance to the semifinals on Thursday where they will meet the No. 2 seed Adelphi.
