Bentley to Meet Adelphi in Northeast-10 Quarterfinals on Sunday

WALTHAM, Mass. – Bentley will meet Adelphi in the quarterfinals of the Northeast-10 Women's Soccer Championship on Sunday at 12:00 PM. The match can be seen live on https://ne10now.tv/adelphipanthers/

The Falcons finished tied for 5th in the standings with Saint Anselm. Both teams had a 5-6-1 record for 16 points, but the Hawks are the No. 5 seed and Bentley the No. 6 seed based on tiebreakers.

Adelphi went 8-2-2 in the NE10 regular to finish in third. They are ranked 4th in the East Region by the United Soccer Coaches and Bentley is 9th.

The leading scorer for the Falcons in the regular season was senior midfielder Brooke Jones (Duxbury, Mass./Duxbury) with 13 points, on four goals and five assists. She ranks T-9th in the NE10 in points.

Along with Jones, Liliana Silva (North Grafton, Mass./Grafton) and Sydney O'Connor (New Fairfield, Conn./New Fairfield) are also tied for the team lead in goals with four.

Sophomore center back Jill Hendriksen (Pembroke, Mass./Pembroke) has helped anchor Bentley's defense all season. Hendriksen rarely left the field and clocked 1,505 minutes in 17 matches. She played all 90 minutes in all but three matches.

Bentley's two fullbacks, Corinne Messier (Hopkinton, Mass./Hopkinton) and Ryenne Feeney (Boxford, Mass./Masconomet) also rarely left field. Messier clocked 1,465 minutes and Feeney 1,425. Messier played all 90 in all but six matches and Feeney in all but seven matches.

Sophomore Jenna Hendriksen (Pembroke, Mass./Pembroke) also played a big role as a defensive midfielder. She started 14 matches and also chipped in offensively with two assists.

Senior center back Jayne Conry (Bolton, Mass./Nashoba) was another to play over 1,000 minutes at 1,295. She played in all 17 matches and started 14.

In goal, sophomore Claire Ewen (Arlington, Mass./Arlington) started all 17 matches and ranks 5th in the NE10 in saves with 74. She was named Goalie of the Week on Oct. 17.

The other quarterfinal match on Sunday in Bentley's half of the bracket is No. 2 Franklin Pierce against No. 7 Assumption.

In the other half of the bracket, No. 1 Saint Rose hosts No. 8 Southern N.H. and No. 4 Southern Connecticut hosts No. 5 Saint Anselm.
