MetroWest Daily News: "A trio of Bentley University athletes from Hopkinton, Holliston stay ready in case sports resume"

Lenny Megliola, a sports columnist for the MetroWest Daily News, recently caught up with three Bentley student-athletes to discuss their road to Bentley and what their fall has been like while dealing with the pandemic. They are hockey's Brendan Hamblet, soccer's Emma Guccione and volleyball's Angie Grabmeier. This article ran in the Oct. 27 edition of the paper and online at www.metrowestdailynews.com.

Guccione's Bentley years, as well as Hamblet's and Grabmeier's, will perpetually hold a special place in their hearts.

Margie Grabmeier signed up her daughter, Angie, for volleyball when she was very young. It made all the sense in the world. After all, mom was the highly successful Hopkinton High volleyball coach.

So, sure, Angie would give the sport a whirl, but if she didn't quite take to it like a fish to water, well, she had some other things going on. Like soccer and gymnastics. "I was always busy," said Angie. But when push came to shove, when one sport had to grab her for college, she made the decision.

She plays volleyball for Bentley University.
