Hassapis Named NE10 Women’s Soccer Goalkeeper of the Week

Waltham, Mass. – Bentley University's Kat Hassapis (North Reading, Mass./North Reading) was named the NE10 Women's Soccer Goalkeeper of the Week on Monday.

Hassapis recorded her 3rd and 4th shutouts in a row last week, which helped Bentley earn wins over nationally ranked Southern New Hampshire and Le Moyne on the road. Those wins extended the Falcons' winning streak to four games, which has vaulted the team up to 5th place in the NE10 standings with 18 points.

Hassapis made three saves in each game, a 2-0 win over then No. 24 ranked SNHU on Oct. 22 and a 1-0 victory at Le Moyne on Saturday.

The shutout and winning streak began with a 1-0 win over Pace on Oct. 11 and was followed by a 1-0 victory over AIC on Oct. 19. Bentley has now gone 376 minutes since they last allowed a goal.

This is the second career NE10 Goalkeeper of the Week Award for Hassapis, who has a 7-6-1 record on the season and is ranked 3rd in the NE10 in save percentage (.818) and 5th in total saves (72).

Bentley will go for a 5th straight win on Wednesday when they visit New York Tech in a non-conference match.
