MANCHESTER, N.H. – Saint Anselm claimed a 2-0 victory over visiting Bentley in a Northeast-10 match on Tuesday afternoon on the strength of a goal in each half. Senior midfielder Rachel Gillies notched a goal and an assist.
The Hawks nabbed the lead in the 34th minute when Gillies scored her second goal of the season. She scored on an 18-yard shot from the right corner of the penalty area into the far post.
Taking that lead into halftime, the Hawks went up 2-0 shortly after the break when Gillies set up Alexis Elowitch for her third goal of the season. After taking a pass from Gillies in midfield, Elowitch scored on a shot from outside the penalty area inside the left post in the 52nd minute.
For Bentley, senior midfielder Elena Ochsenreither (Doylestown, Pa./Central Bucks West) led the way with two shots out of the team's seven.
