No. 16 Saint Rose Tops Bentley In Season-Finale

WALTHAM, Mass. – The 16th-ranked Saint Rose women's soccer team knocked off Bentley 9-0 on a cold and wet Saturday afternoon to win the Northeast-10 regular season title for the fifth straight season.

Sophomore Carmelina Puopolo and senior Brittany Godin each scored twice for the Golden Knights. For Puopolo, it was her 11th and 12 goals of the season. She opened the scoring in the 11th minute and added another in the 69th. Godin scored Saint Rose's second and third goals in the 14th and 46th minutes. Puopolo assisted on Godin's second goal to give her five points for the match.

Saint Rose improves to 16-1-1 overall and 13-1-1 in the NE-10, and will go into the conference playoffs as the top-seed. Bentley's season comes to an end at 6-10-2 and 5-8-2 in the NE-10, a 15 point improvement from last season.

Senior Amy Wagner (Briarcliff Manor, N.Y./Briarcliff), a two-year co-captain, was honored prior to starting the 43rd match of her four-year career.
