Falcons’ Rally Falls Short In Setback at Saint Anselm

MANCHESTER, N.H. – Sophomore Patty McAllister (South Glastonbury, Conn./Glastonbury) scored a 73rd minute goal to bring the Bentley women's soccer team to within one goal of Saint Anselm, but the Hawks held on for a 2-1 victory Wednesday night in a Northeast-10 match.

Saint Anselm's offense came from junior Kaitlin Oldfield, who scored both of her team's goals in a four minute span in the first half.

Her first was unassisted in the 29th minute to give the Hawks a 1-0 lead, and in the 33rd minute senior Jessica Ewald set up her second of the night. The goals were the fifth and sixth of the season for Oldfield.

McAllister's goal, her third of the year, from sophomore Chelsea Owens (Exeter, N.H./Exeter) got the Falcons back in the game, but they were unable to find the tying goal over the final 16 minutes,

Saint Anselm goalie Gabriella Primera had a big night with eight saves, all but one coming before McAllister's goal.

The Falcons, who fall to 4-8-1 on the season, play their first home game in three weeks on Saturday against Pace at 11 a.m.
