Bentley Gains Point in Scoreless Draw With Stonehill

EASTON, Mass. – 120 minutes of play wasn't enough to determine a winner between Bentley University and Stonehill, as the sides played to a scoreless draw in a Northeast-10 women's soccer contest Tuesday afternoon.

Still, the Falcons gain a point in the NE-10 standings and now have 10 through eight conference games, and are 3-4-1 in the NE-10 and 4-6-1 overall.

Scoring chances were at a premium in this game with only seven shots on target, five of which were from the Falcons. Bentley's Tamzin Ellerbeck (Paoli, Pa./Conestoga) had the lone shot on goal in the 20 minute overtime, doing so in the 93rd minute which Skyhawks keeper Amy Wheaton stopped, one of her five saves on the afternoon.

Bentley's Christiana Hynds (West Roxbury, Mass./Boston Latin) got the start in net but gave way to classmate Nicole Derba (Franklin, Mass./Fontbonne Academy) in the 25th minute and played the rest of the game. Both keepers each made a save.
Stonehill, which is tied for fourth place in the NE-10 with 17 points, goes to 5-2-2 in the conference and 7-3-2 overall with the tie.

The Falcons play the fourth game of their five-game road trip Saturday at Southern Connecticut, the third place team in the NE-10. Kickoff is set for 1 p.m.
