DOBBS FERRY, N.Y. – The Bentley University women's soccer team had its two match winning streak snapped Tuesday afternoon with a 1-0 non-conference loss to Mercy College. Freshman forward Chaz'ani Douglas scored the match's only goal in the 46th minute.
After a scoreless first half, Douglas scored just 17 seconds after halftime on a shot from 15 yards out. Sophomore Jackie Karras had the assist.
Freshman keeper Nicole Derba (Franklin, Mass./Fontbonne Academy) made her first career start for the Falcons and stopped five shots, four in the second half.
The loss drops Bentley's record to 3-2 overall, while the Flyers improve to 1-4.
The Falcons get back to Northeast-10 play Saturday afternoon when they host New Haven.
