WALTHAM, Mass. – UMass-Lowell received second half goals from junior Amy Cramer and freshman Brittany Russo to take a 2-0 win over the Bentley University women's soccer team Tuesday night at Cushing Field.
In what was the Northeast-10 opener for both sides, the game was scoreless 67 minutes in until the River Hawks pulled away with goals in six minutes.
Cramer netted the first goal at the 66:41 mark after receiving a cross from junior Julia Donigian and firing a shot from 15 yards out inside the left post.
In the 73rd minute Russo added the second on an assist from senior Maddy Bissaillon.
Freshman Christina Hynds (West Roxbury, Mass./Boston Latin) made eight saves for the Falcons and freshman keeper Jane Hatzikonstantismade four saves for the River Hawks.
UMass-Lowell improves to 2-1 overall and 1-0 in the NE-10, while the Falcons go to 1-1 and 0-1.
Bentley's next match is Friday afternoon at Le Moyne.
