Bentley Places Four on IWLCA Academic Honor Roll; Also Named an Academic Honor Squad

WALTHAM, Mass. – Four players from the Bentley University women's lacrosse team were named to the IWLCA 2017 Zag Sports Division II Academic Honor Roll, it was announced Wednesday. It was also revealed that Bentley was named as an IWLCA Academic Honor Squad.

The four players chosen to the Academic Honor Roll were all seniors; defender Tori Rotermund (Madison, Conn./Daniel Hand), attackers Ciara Morley (Irvington, N.Y./Irvington) and Taylor Lunden (Agawam, Mass./Agawam), and midfielder Ellie Shuman (Nashua, N.H./Nashua North).

To qualify for the Honor Roll, an individual must be a junior, senior, or graduate student, and have earned a cumulative GPA of 3.50 or greater.

Rotermund started all 17 games this past season, a career-high, while she amassed eight ground balls and four caused turnovers. She majored in marketing, and it's the second straight season she's been named to the IWLCA Honor Roll.

Morley, who earlier this month was voted to the Northeast-10 Academic All-Conference team, is also a repeat selection to the Honor Roll. She tallied 22 goals, five assists and 27 points, which was third best on the team in each category, while she majored in both computer information systems and liberal studies.

Lunden majored in finance and is a repeat member of the Honor Roll as well. This past season, she notched seven goals to go along with three assists and 15 ground balls. She finished her Bentley career with 51 goals and 29 assists for 80 points, in 69 games played.

Shuman worked towards her master's degree in accountancy this season, after she earned her bachelor's in accountancy early. On the field, she was the Falcons' second leading goal scorer (28) and in points (32), while she also ranked second on the team in each of ground balls (27), draw controls (22) and caused turnovers (12). She is likewise a repeat member of the Honor Roll.

As a team, the Falcons were also awarded as an Academic Honor Squad. To qualify, a team must have posted a 3.0 or higher team GPA for the academic year.
