Four Bentley Players Voted All-Region by IWLCA

WALTHAM, Mass. – Four players from the Bentley women's lacrosse team were voted All-North Region by the IWLCA, it was announced on Friday. Junior goalie Lauren Ochs' (Rochester, N.Y./Irondequiot) selection to the first team highlighted the selections.

Along with Ochs, senior midfielder Meredith Hart (Fairport, N.Y./Fairport) was named to the second team. While senior attacker Kelsey Howard (Scarborough, Maine/Scarborough) and sophomore defender Paige O'Neill (Amityville, N.Y./St. John's) landed on the third team.

All four were key contributors to Bentley's record breaking season which saw them run off a program record 11 game winning streak, advance to the Northeast-10 semifinals and just miss out on the school's first NCAA Tournament berth.

Ochs was previously named the NE-10 Goalie of the Year and first team All-Conference. She played every minute of every game this season. She ranked 3rd in the NE-10 in total saves (163), 4th in save percentage (47.7) and 5th in goals against average (9.42).

Hart had earlier garnered second team All-Conference honors. An all-around midfielder, she led the team in both ground balls (46) and caused turnovers (18) and was second in draw controls (49). Offensively, she finished the season 4th on the team in both goals (32) and points (37).

Howard put up big offensive numbers in her final season. She finished 2nd on the squad in each of goals (38), assists (17) and points (55). Howard finished her career with 121 points, which ranks 11th most in the program's history. She was previously selected second team All-Conference as well.

O'Neill started all 19 games Bentley played this season as only a sophomore. She helped the Falcons post the 4th lowest team GAA in the NE-10 (9.42), while collecting 19 ground balls and causing eight turnovers. She previously earned the distinction of becoming Bentley's first All-Conference defender since 2008.
