Bentley Tops Franklin Pierce 15-11 for 7th Straight Victory

WALTHAM, Mass. – Five players scored multiple goals as No. 17 Bentley topped Franklin Pierce 15-11 on Tuesday night to secure its 7th straight victory, the program's longest streak since 2007. The win improved the team's Northeast-10 record to 7-3.

Bentley started fast with the first five goals scored inside the first 11 minutes and never trailed. Seniors Meredith Hart (Fairport, N.Y./Fairport), Erin O'Connor (Longmeadow, Mass./Longmeadow) and Kelsey Howard (Scarborough, Maine/Scarborough) all had three goals and one assist.

The opening 5-0 run saw Hart, O'Connor and Howard score in a row, followed by goals from Hannah Lindgren (Southborough, Mass./Alongquin) and Howard again.

Bentley led 8-4 at halftime, but Franklin Pierce crept closer by scoring the first two goals of the 2nd half from attacker Caitlin Sweeney. The Falcons though used a 4-0 run over the next seven minutes to open up a 12-6 lead, with the same quartet of Hart, O'Connor, Howard and Lindgren that was involved in the opening run score the goals.

Franklin Pierce broke the run with a goal from midfielder Anna Wilber, but two straight goals from Hart and freshman Nikki Christopulos (Andover, Mass./Andover) gave Bentley a 14-7 lead at the 14:54 mark, its largest lead of the night.

The Falcons are now 9-5 on the season overall in addition to their 7-3 conference. Their next two games are on the road, starting Saturday at Merrimack.
