Whitmore Receives CSC Academic All-District Recognition
WALTHAM, Mass. – After excelling both on the court and in the classroom, Bentley University senior forward Maggie Whitmore (South Portland, Maine/South Portland HS) has added College Sports Communicators Academic All-District to her list of postseason accolades.
Whitmore, a management major, will advance to the national ballot for CSC Academic All-America consideration.
The six-footer, who surpassed the 1,000-point milestone for her career, led the Northeast-10 regular season co-champions and the NE10 tournament champs in both scoring and rebounding, averaging 12 points and 6.7 boards. She shot .384 from beyond the arc and Bentley's all-time leader in free throw percentage connected at an .875 clip from the charity stripe.
Whitmore was previously voted to the All-Northeast-10 first team and the D2CCA All-East Region second team, and received honorable mention Division II All-America honors from the Women's Basketball Coaches Association.
Bentley, which finished at 26-7 and was ranked 12th in the most recent WBCA Division II coaches poll, was 10-0 this season when Whitmore scored at least 15 points. She was the team's top scorer in eight games and the top rebounder the same number of times.
