Whitmore Gains Honorable Mention All-America Honors for 2nd Time

WALTHAM, Mass. – For the second consecutive year, Bentley University senior forward Maggie Whitmore (South Portland, Maine/South Portland HS) has received honorable mention Division II All-America recognition from the Women's Basketball Coaches Association.

It's the third postseason accolade the six-footer has received after leading the Falcons in scoring for the second straight season. She was voted to the All-Northeast-10 first team and selected for the D2CCA All-East Region second team.

Whitmore was one of only three Northeast-10 players to average at least 12 points, six rebounds and two assists, numbers that she put up for the second straight season. She scored in doubles 23 times with 15 or more ten times.

Whitmore, in addition to being Bentley's top scorer, was second on the team in rebounds and third in assists, steals and three-pointers.

Whitmore, the 39th player in program history to eclipse the 1,000-point milestone, finished the year with career totals that include 1,030 points, 598 rebounds, 182 assist and 101 steals in 91 games. She plans to return next year as a graduate student for her final season of eligibility.

Bentley finished the season with a 27-6 record. The Falcons shared the Northeast-10 regular season championship, made it a three-peat as NE10 playoff champs and were the number one seed in the NCAA Division II East Regional.
